Palin's AIP connections

Since the McCain campaign believes in the guilt-by-association game, thought I'd post a couple of theirs. More to follow.

“I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions.”

“The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government. And I won't be buried under their damn flag.”

-- Joe Vogler, founder of the Alaskan Independence Party

Todd Palin was a card-carrying member of the AIP from 1995 until 2002.

Sarah Palin attended AIP meetings and addressed their membership, saying “Keep up the good work and God bless you.”

AIP Vice Chairman, Dexter Carter, asserted that Sarah Palin was a onetime member of the AIP. She was not, but her attendence at meetings, association with AIP members, and sympathetic views led him to believe that she was.
